Hazard Overview

Health hazards: Inhaling the vapor of this product can irritate the nose and upper respiratory tract. In addition, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and central nervous system symptoms may also occur. Liquids or vapors have a stimulating effect on the eyes and can cause permanent damage to the eyes. Irritating to the skin and can cause severe burns. Can be absorbed through the skin and cause poisoning. May cause dermatitis. Oral administration can cause dizziness and nausea, followed by temporary central respiratory depression, arrhythmia, and central nervous system symptoms such as drowsiness, movement disorders, ataxia, numbness, etc. Abnormal liver function may occur. Chronic effects: Long term exposure can lead to neurasthenia syndrome, liver enlargement, and abnormal liver function.

Emergency measures

Skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing and rinse with plenty of flowing water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Eye contact: Immediately lift the eyelids and thoroughly rinse with plenty of flowing water or saline solution for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Quickly leave the scene and move to a place with fresh air. Keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If breathing stops, immediately perform artificial respiration. Seek medical attention.

Ingestion: Drink plenty of warm water and induce vomiting. Gastric lavage. Seek medical attention.

Fire protection measures

Dangerous characteristics: Flammable in the presence of open flames and high heat. Has strong reducibility. Can react strongly with oxidants, causing combustion or explosion. Reacts violently with mercuric oxide, metallic sodium, stannous chloride, and 2,4-dinitrophenylchloride.

Firefighting method: In case of a large fire, firefighters must operate in a protected shelter. Spray the escaping liquid with water to dilute it into a non flammable mixture, and protect firefighters with misty water. Extinguishing agent: spray water, insoluble foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder.

Emergency response to leakage

Quickly evacuate personnel from the contaminated area to a safe zone, isolate them, and strictly restrict their entry and exit. Cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained positive pressure respirators and acid and alkali resistant work clothes. Do not come into direct contact with the leaked material. Cut off the leakage source as much as possible. Prevent the flow into restricted spaces such as sewers and drainage ditches. Minor leakage: Absorb or absorb with sand or other non combustible materials. You can also rinse with a large amount of water, dilute the washing water, and put it into the wastewater system. Storage precautions: Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Stay away from sources of fire and heat. The storage temperature shall not exceed 30 ℃, and the relative humidity shall not exceed 80%. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, metal powders, and edible chemicals, and avoid mixing storage. Equip with corresponding types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The storage area should be equipped with emergency response equipment for leaks and suitable containment materials.
